Cilia Klinger is a photojournalist and documentary photographer who was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She studied Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography at Hochschule Hannover and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Peace Research and Security Policy at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH) in Hamburg. Cilia has worked on several projects across Europe, Latin America, and West Asia, demonstrating a strong interest in human rights, feminism as well as socially and politically critical issues.
Through her previous stays abroad, she has been able to gather experiences about culture, history, and religion. Moreover, she has witnessed firsthand the despair, fears, and anger felt by individuals who have endured the consequences of wars, discrimination, displacement, and violence.
